About Joren
I've been around computers all my life. I remember playing games at the age of five on a green-screen monochrome computer that ran on 5.25 floppy diskettes... ever since then I've liked using computers and figuring out how they work. I greatly enjoy the opportunity to help others understand and use all the wonderful technology we've been given. To help pay the bills, I fix and tune up other people's computers.
I have recently returned from Japan after a year's internship there. I'm currently studying Japanese and hope to go back someday. すこし日本語を分かりませんけれど、勉強がんばって練習喋っていただきたいんです！
I graduated from George Mason University in the class of 2008, after which I was privileged to serve as an intern in Japan with Campus Crusade for Christ, an interdenominational para-church ministry at many colleges across the world. "Cru" has been very rewarding on a personal level and has allowed me to help people in many ways and to grow as a Christian.
Fixing computers has also been very rewarding for me. I enjoy getting to meet people as well as playing computer detective.
I particularly like the satisfaction of knowing that I've solved a problem that has frustrated someone (sometimes for years!)and watching that frustration disappear in the space of a couple hours - and for far less that they'd typically pay for the repair!
